Ever wanted to know more about the star that keeps us all alive? In the midst of the solar maximum, we offer you a family-friendly session about our dazzling Sun. We explore the Sun with a talk from Dr Sarah Crick about aurora, solar storms and eclipses, as well as tips on how to observe the Sun safely at home from Jordan Mansfield. Each person will also get the opportunity to make a Sun mosaic, which they can take home to keep, and a chance to see the Sun through a solar telescope, weather permitting.
Whatever the British weather brings, we are ready to whisk off our miniature sky explorers on a jam-packed space adventure! We’ll have a short space talk, a quiz and stargazing! Plan A is to be outside in the field using telescopes and binoculars to see the Moon, stars and planets. If our plot is foiled by thick cloud cover, we will retreat inside and explore the heavens digitally and do fun, interactive space activities. Each child ticket includes a space goodie bag.
Join Dr Sarah Crick and her team for a night of astronomy greatness! You will be treated to an entertaining astronomy talk delivered by Sarah on a hot topic in the space sector, then dazzled by the delights in the skies through a telescope by Jordan from NOVA Stargazing. If the clouds blow in, you will be treated to a digital tour of the sky, a close up look at some HUGE telescopes and an astronomy quiz with an out-of-this-world prize for the victor!
